EVALUATION SYSTEM

The IESS educational system aims to achieve long-term results. These results are the fruit of a non-discontinuous commitment, linked to tests, but of work carried out with continuity and constant commitment, both in class and at home.


The student's path is therefore evaluated not only in relation to the result, but also to the commitment. The separate evaluation of both factors allows to identify, for each student, targeted teaching strategies.


Learning outcomes are also linked to the student's behavior, who participates profitably in school activities only if he or she respects the rules and behaves correctly and responsibly.

LEARNING TESTS

Progress in results is tested every day through specific formative tests, carried out at the beginning of each lesson. During the tests, the teacher stimulates discussion and involves students in rotation, with the aim of verifying the work done at home as well.


Following each test, the teacher does not assign grades, but feedback on the activities carried out and suggestions for improvement, so that the student is aware of his/her shortcomings and takes action promptly to remedy them.


At the end of the period, the results are tested through a summative assessment. The teacher communicates the results achieved with formative feedback reported on the assessment, which students can photograph and show at home.

EVALUATIONS

The result achieved at the end of the period is evaluated with a numerical grade, which certifies the skills actually acquired by the student.


The evaluation is therefore not linked to the individual tests, but to the overall result of the period.

Since it is decisive for the result, at the end of the period the student is also evaluated in relation to the commitment.


The tutor comments on the evaluations with the student, so that he/she acquires the right awareness of the work done and the results achieved.

ELECTRONIC REGISTER

All assessments are entered by the teacher into the electronic register and are therefore always visible on both the student's and the parent's noticeboard, who are always updated on the assessments obtained.

RECOVERIES

In case of failures, the teacher activates, at his/her discretion, remedial activities and courses.

In addition to the legal ones, which take place at the end of the four-month period, remedial activities and tests are also planned at the end of each period, to allow the student to promptly fill any gaps highlighted.
